【Basic Knowledge Material】What is Vapor Deposition Technology?

Low cost and suitable for development and prototyping! We will also introduce the types of deposition methods.

Deposition is a method of coating where dielectrics or metals are evaporated or sublimated and then adhered to the surface of a substrate (mainly glass or plastic). There are various types of deposition materials, which is a notable feature due to their wide range of applications. They are utilized in many fields, including electronic components and optical components. Deposition is typically performed at a vacuum level of about 10^-3 to 10^-4 Pa. When deposition occurs in a vacuum, the average free path increases, allowing the deposition material to adhere to the substrate without colliding with other molecules. Additionally, the evaporation temperature of the deposition material decreases, making the deposition process itself easier. Compared to other coating methods (such as sputtering), deposition has lower costs and is suitable for development and prototyping. Types of deposition methods include vacuum deposition, plasma-assisted deposition, and ion-assisted deposition.
